KLIF (Dallas) fan site is back

Postby brianroth » Sat Oct 13, 2012 12:14 am

Since I made the mention about KLIF in the "clear channel" topic here in the lounge a tear ago, the site has returned complete with pictures!

EDIT: In addition to the various pix, there are also some audio clips where you can hear the EMT plate reverb they had in the signal chain. That was a popular effect that many top-40 stations did back in the 1960's.

Danny, there is also quite a section of text where the "principals" at the station discuss switching from PAMS jingles to TM.

I had seen that website and it is so interesting because those are the names I grew up with.
Of course, the original KLIF 12 stick antenna array is less than a mile from my house.

So many of the jocks in that article are guys that I have worked with.
Many either own prominent advertising agencies or are current DJs or voice talent.

Fun reading!

Yes, it is great reading about an era when most stations were owned by real people and not mindless corporations!
