RIP Mike Spitz

Postby Ricardus » Tue Oct 15, 2013 10:26 am

Mike Spitz, founder and owner of ATR Repair, and ATR Tape, lost his life to cancer a few nights ago.

I met him at a few trade shows, but can't say I knew him at all. My friends Paul and Eddie knew him, and spoke very highly of him. The analog world lost a HUGE friend.

No idea what will become of ATR Tape, but hopefully his legacy will continue.

Yes, I heard about that as well. I had a couple of phone conversations with him over the years and he was very helpful. For awhile, one of his 1" 2 track ATR-100 machines was in a studio here in Okla. City.
